Shepherdsons Road is a heavy vehicle bypass route located in Biloela, Qld. The subject site recently had a pavement overlay constructed which was showing signs of failure wihtin the first year of use.
Hartecs were engaged by the client to peer review the previous design and provide a recommended renewal and replacement design for 2.7km of Shepherdsons Road. Hartecs design considered cost, maintenance and longevity implications for the client.
The final design included a custom insitu stablished base to reduce overall costs for the client and bridge the poor subgrade conditions. In addition to this Hartecs improved the overall pavement drainage strategies to ensure the longevity of the design and construction.
